Welcome.
A collection of conversations, writings, and resources. Getting to the heart of my work focussing on cultivating collaborative relationships in healthcare – between the public and the NHS, patients and staff.

My philosophy is ‘change comes from within.’

I am a researcher, storyteller and relational coach who has spent the last three decades being curious about how cultural and behavioural changes to embed collaborative ways of working might be achieved.

I am sharing my insights and stories to create a reflective and reflexive space for anyone interested in cultivating collaborative relationships in healthcare. It is for everyone, from health and social care leaders (all staff), public engagement experience practitioners, policy makers, education providers and researchers, to the growing community of patient leaders in the NHS.

Healthcare touches all our lives - yet interactions between healthcare professionals and the public are often characterised by an imbalance of power, control, and information. Think for a moment of your experiences. With a background in nursing, reflecting on my own experiences was formative to my practice, guiding me to work especially in engagement, leadership and change. I became interested in how we achieve the cultural and behaviour changes that are needed to embed collaborative ways of working into our everyday practice. This led me to my doctoral study.

I hope my insights sparks curiosity and courage, creativity and kindness, and new connections to create the conditions needed to support people cultivating collaborate relationships in healthcare.

If you would like to continue the conversation, or to invite me to talk about my work at your event, conference, networks, community of practice or with your team please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
